Systems Engineer

Oh right, we should do the responsible thing and give you details first. Our client provides enterprise-class managed data center services, and they're looking for a Systems Engineer for their team. They have around 70 datacenters servicing 29 different markets, and we can't disclose their clients – but think about any major industry player from hyperscalers, banks, healthcare and social media platforms, and they're likely in their CRM. The scale of their applications are enormous, so it's safe to say it's a very impactful project that you'll have the chance to work on.
The list of responsibilities includes:
- Develop various internal tools for automation to reduce manually intensive processes
- Meet performance goals and ensure high availability through internal system architecture
- Operate multiple database platforms and SOAP & REST APIs
- Review and address issues
- Produce QA, design, and other pertinent documentation
- Arrange requirement-gathering sessions with stakeholders
- Generate functional and technical specification documentation
What qualifications and skills are we looking for?
- 4+ years of experience with Python
- Previous experience working with enterprise-grade applications and high-availability systems and databases
- 4+ years of experience with configuration management
- Excellent grasp of tools such as Chef, Ansible, Puppet, Saltstack
- Previous experience integrating third-party APIs
- Experience writing complex queries in SQL or MySQL
- Strong bash or powershell scripting knowledge
- Experience working with ElasticSearch, RabbitMQ, Jenkins, Redis, and Docker
- Bonus points for experience with EAV models and MVC frameworks
